SCE: Emergency Outage Cause of Early-Morning Darkness

Workers with Southern California Edison spent the morning hours replacing underground equipment during an emergency outage Thursday.

The outage was necessary to replace damaged equipment at West Mountain View and South Vermont avenues. Approximately 886 customers were left without power, which was eventually restored at 6:28 a.m., according to Paul Griffo, with Southern California Edison media relations.

The outage started at 1:24 a.m.
