NWS Issues Flood Advisory For Colby Fire Impact Area

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for the Colby Fire Impact Area at 2:12 a.m.

The current storm may be capable of bringing one third to a half inch of rain with the possibility of minor debris flows in and around the area. NWS officials site the Rainbow Drive area as being susceptible.

The flood advisory ends at 4:15 a.m.

Fire fighters from Station 97 on Sierra Madre Boulevard are investigating reports of minor flooding and debris flows in that area.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department is receiving calls of lightning strikes to trees in Claremont.

The city’s current alert status is Yellow.  A yellow status means:

 

  • No evacuation orders in effect.
  • Rain-related parking restrictions in effect.
  • Residents directed to remove vehicles, trash bins and other obstructions from streets and/or travel lanes as they will be subject to tow or removal by authorities.
  • No restricted entry to impact area/potentially impacted areas.
