Dump Trucks To Return, Remove Sediment From Foothill Basins

County work crews will be removing sediment from four debris basins above Glendora, officials said.

Workers in dump trucks will arrive as early as Monday, December 1, to remove about 45,000 cubic yards of sediment from the Englewild, Harrow, Hook Canyon West and Hook Canyon East debris basins after last week’s storm.

The trucks will drive through Palm Drive, Sierra Madre, Live Oak, Grand and Barranca avenues as they make their way to the Interstate 210 Freeway.

The sediment will be removed once the debris basins have completely dewatered.

Sediment needs to be removed for the basins to function properly during storms, officials said.
