Man Arrested After Robbery Attempt At Kohl’s

Glendora Police arrested a man Monday night after he attempted to steal about $1,000 worth of merchandise from a store in the Glendora Marketplace.

The man allegedly tried to steal the merchandise from Kohl’s, 1225 S. Lone Hill Ave., but was caught by employees and began struggling with them and eventually fled on foot, said Lt. Scott Strong of Glendora Police.

Police responded to Kohl’s around 6:10 p.m.

Arriving officers located the man as he fled, but he evaded police in the 900 block of South Lone Hill. Police set up a perimeter to search for the hiding suspect.

The suspect was eventually located after about an hour-long search and was taken into custody in the service bay area of the Glendora Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep Dealership, 931 S. Lone Hill Ave.

David Rivas, 27, from Azusa, was booked on suspicion of robbery and grand theft. Rivas is being held in lieu of $50,000.
