Petrillo's Pizza

The Best Pizza is…

Congrats to Petrillo’s on being the Glendora City News Reader’s Choice for the Best Pizza in Glendora. After over 1,200 votes, they claimed first place in our poll with 36% of the votes, followed by Domenico’s with 28% of the vote. A new spot, Cosmo’s came in third at 11%, just edging out another great pizza, Round Table that garnered 9%.

This poll was for fun and all the local places were encouraged to get their social media and fans involved to support them. If you are one of those people that take life too serious and are mad over a poll regarding a slice of pizza, you may want to stop reading.

Petrillo’s opened their second location here in Glendora in 1994. Mike Lighthouse of Petrillo’s said the family chose Glendora because a lot of people who grew up near their original San Gabriel location had settled here as well as in the neighboring cities.

“Both locations are doing very well and we feel blessed to have such a strong and loyal customer base”, Lighthouse said.

According to Lighthouse, their pepperoni pizza is still the most popular followed by the Petrillo’s Specialty which is a supreme combination of mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce, Italian sausage, mushrooms, pepperoni, salami, garlic, onions and green peppers.

imageSecond place Domenico’s is another local favorite that had roots originally in Pasadena and Monrovia.

The Domenico’s family restaurant dates back to 1960 with a small take-out deli on Washington Avenue in North Pasadena.

Besides having a great spot in the Glendora Village, they are one of only a few places in town that sells pizza by the slice. They also serve gluten free crusts that have become popular.

imageThe newcomer in town, Cosmo’s just opened in August of 2014. Owner Cosmo Gnaulati is from Glendora but had departed to manage and own other restaurants around California before returning recently.

His pizza menu has a bit of a different flair than your traditional pizzas. Some of the more popular gourmet pies on his menu include a prosciutto and fig pizza or the pesto chicken pizza.

Below are the final results of the poll. Remember that it is all in fun and there are enough pizza cravings to go around. Try them all!
