A man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly brandishing a handgun during the repossession of his vehicle.

The incident happened around 12:15 a.m. in the 100 block of South Valencia Street. A car was being repossessed when the car’s driver exited his home and brandished a .45-caliber handgun at the repo man, said Lt. Scott Strong of Glendora Police.

The suspect fled back into his home. A police perimeter was set up with aid from Azusa Police and a helicopter.

The suspect, 30-year-old Michael Charles McIntyre, eventually emerged after being ordered by police to give himself up and was taken into custody.

McIntyre was booked on suspicion of brandishing a firearm.
