AMGEN Tour of California Returns To Glendora In May

Cyclists will once again speed through Glendora as the AMGEN Tour of California returns May 10 through May 17.

The AMGEN Tour will roll through Glendora Saturday, May 16, after a 11:35 a.m. start in Ontario. Cyclists will eventually make their way along Glendora Mountain Road from Mt. Baldy Village, ride through East Fork Road, down Highway 39, east through Azusa and Glendora along Sierra Madre Avenue and north on Glendora Mountain Road to its destination back at Mt. Baldy Village.

AMGEN MAP ScreenshotThe race will include 144 cyclists. The men will cover more than 724 miles through 13 California cities in eight stages, while the women will cover 150 miles in three stages. The race will take cyclists across some San Gabriel Valley cities, including Pasadena, Azusa and Glendora.

This AMGEN Tour marks the 10th anniversary of the race, billed as “America’s largest and most prestigious professional cycling race.”

The AMGEN Tour of California has included in its races Olympic Medalists and Tour de France contenders.
