The city is seeking community members to apply for a position on the Steering Committee to guide the creation of a document for the Arrow Highway Specific Plan.

As many as 15 members are being sought for the creation of the Committee:

  • Six residents who live within 500 feet of the corridor
  • Three or four property owners or business tenants
  • Two or three Glendora residents at-large
  • A Los Angeles County representative
  • A transportation representative

The deadline to submit an application is Saturday May 30.

The goal of the Arrow Highway Specific Plan is to provide policy to revitalize the area between the east and west boundaries of the city along Arrow Highway north of the north curb line. Enhancing economic development with a community-driven planning effort was identified as a goal in the city’s Strategic Plan, City Staff said.

City officials envision a “revitalized corridor serving the community and region with a variety of land uses set in an attractive environment that creates a warm and inviting southern gateway to the City of Glendora.”

The entire planning process of drafting and refining the Arrow Highway Specific Plan document is expected to last 12 to 15 months.

Those interested in participating can submit an application to the City Clerk’s office at 116 E. Foothill Blvd. Applications can also be emailed to cityclerk@ci.glendora.ca.us.

Committee members will be appointed in June.
