SAN DIMAS: Quiznos Owner Shot, Suspect At Large

The owner of a San Dimas Quiznos was shot in an armed robbery at the restaurant on Arrow Highway Tuesday afternoon.

The store owner, a 63-year-old San Dimas resident, was shot once in the torso during a brief struggle with the male suspect after the owner handed over cash, according to the San Dimas Sheriff’s Station.

The victim was airlifted in critical condition.

The shooting occurred at 3:20 p.m. Eyewitnesses reported to deputies that the suspect entered the store and demanded cash at the front counter. The owner handed over the undisclosed amount in a bag. The struggle occurred outside the store after the owner followed the suspect, deputies said in a written statement.

The suspect fled on foot in a southwest direction, deputies said.

The suspect is described as white or Hispanic, 25 to 30 years old, approximately 6 feet tall and 175 pounds. He wore a black cap, black shirt and dark shorts with a plaid pattern.
