The purveyor of confectionery creations and peddler of delicious delights, the Donut Man was recently honored by the San Gabriel Valley Economic Partnership organization.

The Donut Man received the SGVEP’s Chairman’s Award Sept. 12 for “making a significant contribution to the quality of life and economic vitality of the region.”

The Donut Man has been a Glendora fixture for more than 40 years. Led by founder Jim Nakano, Donut Man has acquired countless fans who have made the establishment truly world famous.

Customer favorites include peach and strawberry donuts, which are seasonal offerings.

“I’m humbled every time I get one of these awards and very appreciative since I never expected any of it,” Nakano told GCN.

If you want one of his signature strawberry donuts, you better move fast. Nakano said they will only last for a few more weekends before they disappear.
