Administrators at Citrus College have cancelled evening classes due to a power outage that affected the campus and immediate area Wednesday.

Power was restored to the campus, but to air on the side of caution, evening classes will not take place, said Paula Green, director of external relations.

Classes were taking place during Veterans Day, Green said.

The campus closed as of 4:15 p.m. due to the outage, according to the college’s Campus Safety office.

A wider outage started just before 3 p.m. and is still affecting 1,191 customers in Glendora Azusa and Covina, said David Song from Southern California Edison.

A second outage nearby appears to be affecting 580 customers, according to the SCE website.

SCE troublemen are still trying to locate the source of the outage and there is no estimated time of repair, Song said.

The intersections of Citrus Avenue and Alosta Avenue and Citrus Avenue and Foothill Boulevard are affected by the outage, according to Azusa Police radio traffic. Crews with Southern California Edison are reportedly on scene to restore power.
