BREAKING NEWS: Metrolink Train Strikes, Kills Pedestrian

UPDATE, 1:33 p.m.: Coroner’s officials have yet to identify the man who was struck and killed by a Metrolink train Tuesday.

The San Dimas Sheriff’s Station described the victim as a white male between his 50s and 60s, said Sgt. Vicki Gregory.

His identification is still pending, along with notification of next of kin, said Ed Winter, assistant chief with the Office of Medical Examiner-Coroner.

PREVIOUS: A Metrolink Train struck and killed a male pedestrian early Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred around 7:21 a.m. at the intersection of Sunflower Avenue and the railroad tracks. Sgt. Vicki Gregory of the San Dimas Sheriff’s Station said a caller reported the collision as a possibly accidental.

Los Angeles County Firefighters were dispatched at 7:23 a.m., arrived four minutes later and declared the victim deceased, said a representative from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The age of the victim is not known at this time.

Investigators are still on scene.
