The Glendora Chamber of Commerce announced at the beginning of February that the Glendora Rotary Club awarded 48 grants to 65 teachers in the Glendora and Charter Oak unified school districts.

Approximately $18,450 was donated to the “mini-grants” program by local business people, community members and Rotary members themselves, with grant amounts reaching up to $500.

The grants were given at an awards presentation held in the Glendora Unified Board Room February 4.

Approximately 16 teachers from Charter Oak and 49 teachers from Glendora Unified were awarded the grants.

The “mini-grants for teachers” program, which started in 1984, is one of the major fundraising efforts for the Rotary Club, having began in October of 2015 and culminating at the awards presentation.
