Los Angeles County Fire Officials released some details Thursday on the trailer park fire that claimed the life of a long-time Glendora resident.

Cause investigators with the Los Angeles County Fire Department determined the fire that claimed Brent Gielen, 63, was accidental, said Inspector Randall Wright with the department’s Public Information Office.

Details on how the fire started were not available, Wright said.

Kristy McCracken, investigator with the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner-Coroner said Gielen’s death was the result of “thermal burns and smoke inhalation.”

Gielen’s death was also ruled accidental by the Medical Examiner-Coroner, McCracken said.

The fire at Tropics Trailer Park, 428 E. Route 66, took the life of Gielen, destroyed his trailer and gutted the trailer of neighbor Matthew Alexander February 4.
