Race Scheduled To Aid Victims of Sexual Exploitation

A 5k run/walk set for June seeks to help women and children exploited in human trafficking in the U.S. and abroad.

The Run 4 Their Lives 5k run/walk will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 4. Registration is $24 through May 20 and is $30 from May 21 until the day of the race. Proceeds from the race and fundraising will benefit local faith-based rehabilitation home Redeeming Love, established for trafficking victims.

Race 4 Their LivesOther local and global ministries that help sex trafficking victims will also benefit from fundraising and race fees, organizers said.

The race will begin at Finkbiner Park, 160 N. Wabash Ave., and then wind up and around a few neighborhoods before ending back at the park.

Runners are being asked to arrive to Finkbiner no later than 7:45 a.m. to secure parking and to be prepped for the race.
