Glendora Mom Accused of Battery Against GHS Student Appears in Court

The mom who allegedly committed battery against a Glendora High School student had a May court appearance, officials said.

Erin Lisa Sims, 49, was arraigned May 31 and pleaded not guilty to two counts of misdemeanor battery in the West Covina Courthouse, according to Sarah Ardalani, public information officer with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Sims’ case was filed by the DA’s Office May 25, Ardalani said.

In March, Sims allegedly grabbed a male student by the shirt and tried to take him to be reprimanded for being rude to her. Sims’ son then allegedly hit the male student with one of his crutches in retaliation.

The brother of the male student then confronted Sim’s son for allegedly hitting his sibling with the crutch and appeared to try to fight him. Sims, still holding the male student by the shirt, grabbed the brother and another altercation ensued.

Sims is scheduled to return to court July 12 for a pretrial hearing in Dept. 10 of the West Covina Courthouse.
