Glendora’s Adam Plutko Makes Impressive MLB Debut

Saturday night was a special night for a former Glendora High School baseball player.

24-year-old Adam Plutko made his major league debut,  just one week after getting called up to the big leagues while in the middle of a wedding he was attending.

img_2273Plutko, was called up to the Cleveland Indians after playing for their AAA afiliate earlier in the year. The call occurred last Saturday night, only minutes after he was participating as a groomsman in a wedding here in California.

Although the Indians lost Saturday night’s game, Plutko pitched 1.2 innings, allowing no runs and 2 hits while also striking out two batters.

The Indians are expected to make the playoffs, so hopefully Glendora will be seeing more of Plutko on TV.

Plutko, a 2010 graduate of Glendora High School, went on to play for UCLA before being drafted by the Indians in 2013. Since then he has steadily made his way up through the ranks leading up to last night’s pinnacle.

Following the game, local reporters asked Plutko about the debut. You can see that video interview below:
