The location, located at 1247 S. Lone Hill Ave, opened to residents and celebrated a grand opening celebration at 9am. The event was attended by members of the community, local dignitaries, City Councilmembers, Chick-fil-A Executives, Chamber of Commerce Board Members and of course GCN.

Los Angeles County Firefighters were also on hand to help raise the flag as a solo artist sang the national anthem a cappella. The slight rain deterred no one and it was a wonderful event.

This is the second location for franchise owner Carlos Mayen, who also opened the Chick-fil-A restaurant near APU recently. One of the things Carlos looks forward to is starting a Chick-fil-A Leadership Group at the local high school, as he did in Azusa.

The restaurant is bringing 100 new jobs and collected around 120 books for the Glendora Public Library yesterday during a grand opening road trip. Up to 100 participants enjoyed a six-hour bus tour around the area, helping Chick-fil-A give back to the community and having a bit of fun during stops along the way.

The family friendly road trip replaced this opening’s overnight First 100 campout party typically associated with Chick-fil-A’s grand openings.

During the tour, 100 participants packed 10,000 meals to be donated to Shepherd’s Pantry, a local charity organization.
