Willow Groundbreaking Ceremony!

On Wednesday, October 17, 2018, Charter Oak USD proudly broke ground on the Willow Elementary School new Learning Resource Center (LRC) with the support of Governing Board Members, Superintendent, Citizen Bond Oversight Committee, Glendora City Council Members, School Principal Karen Goss, Director of Facilities Shawn Yocum, school staff and parents. The new LRC is a 4,000 square foot project with largely open space for library, media/technology, STEM and a gathering center. It will contain movable furnishings for easy transformation of use and three specialty rooms for special education services, a teacher workroom and restrooms. The project also includes two additional classroom buildings with an outdoor learning area. The new buildings will be equipped with solar energy panels.

Thanks to the community supported Measure CO General Obligation Bond, all Charter Oak schools are receiving the benefits of modernization and/or new construction which includes painting schools, replacing playground equipment, adding school marquees, replacing HVAC and irrigation systems, installing energy efficient lighting, and upgrading technology infrastructure. New construction includes an aquatic center, learning resource centers, and new classrooms.

We are excited to have Willow as the first school to break ground on their new Learning Resource Center!
