Glendora, CA—Soroptimist International of the Americas, an international volunteer organization for women, is accepting new members from the Azusa-Glendora and surrounding areas. The organization’s mission is to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and around the world.

“It is a life changing experience to work along- side such generous, giving women. Not only do we help women and girls to achieve their dreams, we are growing right along with them. If you would like to share some of this magic, we would love to have you come and join us,” declares President Elaine Heisinger.

SoroptomistWe invite local women who are interested in serving our community to learn more about what we do by attending one of our upcoming meetings which are held at noon on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at Marie Callenders in Azusa at 1175 E Alosta Ave. For those who can only attend evening meetings, we meet on the last Wednesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. at the same location.

The club participates in the Soroptimist “Live Your Dream” award program which provides women who serve as the primary wage earners for their families with financial resources to offset costs associated with their efforts to attain higher education or additional skills and training. The Azusa Glendora club is involved in many other programs that benefit women and girls, including a 5th grade self-esteem program as well as a new program called “Live It Be It” in which we mentor high school girls.
