Local Scout Troop Raises ‘Toys for Tots’

BSA Troop 446

Our community had so many stories of residents helping others with holiday cheer this Christmas and Glendora City News would like to showcase as many as we can. Thanks to groups like Boy Scout Troop 446, we can do just that.

Many children are not as fortunate to have a blissful Christmas holiday, and the BSA Troop 446 participated in the annual Toys for Tots campaign to ensure that others had a bit of Christmas joy.

A combined effort comprised of the 14 boys in the troop, Sandy Serna, Glendora community members, and the parents of BSA Troop 446 produced a sizable contribution of about 20 toys for the campaign on December 9.

The 446 Scouts have not been sitting idly by in the meantime; the boys are frequently engaged in service projects throughout Glendora and Covina with the Cub Scouts, or planning future Eagle Projects.

Patrick Valadez completed his Eagle Project at Sonrise Christian school. Future Eagle Projects sites currently being planned include Sandburg Middle School.

When not participating in community service projects, they embark on ventures and hikes, and camp regularly.
