Tommy Gibson, 37 of Glendora, has opened a new local gun shop to round out his firearms training courses his company runs for nearby residents.
Gibson spent 4 years in the Navy right after high school before returning to the Glendora area. His love of not only firearms, but responsible gun ownership, has driven the formation of ‘Sure Shot, A Civilian Readiness Company’.
The retail gun store, Sure Shot, which we may note carries emergency supply kits as well, is located in San Dimas at 635 W Arrow Highway, in the Red Robin parking lot. It was Gibson’s vision to add the retail store to his current firearms training classes, which he has run at nearby Burro Canyon Shooting Park up Highway 39.
The company goal is to provide firearms introduction, training, resources and products in a safe environment. Part of that process includes the new store, where customers can make an individual appointment if desired, to learn about firearms needs and preparedness at their own speed.
In addition to handguns and some rifles, the store also carries, emergency preparedness kits, emergency food, ammunition and firearms safe storage solutions.
Some of the classes include Firearm Familiarization, Women’s Firearm Familiarization, Personal Protection and Home Defense 1 & 2, Combat Pistol and much more.
“We provide expert advice and give the highest level of customized service possible to those looking to become better prepared. By giving personalized attention and being connected with a network of professionals that provide us with advanced knowledge of products and services, we have become trusted consultants”, Gibson said.

One of the instructors, Andy Sutcliffe, states on the company website the overall need of civilians to be armed and trained correctly.
I firmly believe citizens have both the right and responsibility to protect themselves and their families from those who would intentionally do them harm. It is critical however the citizen who chooses to arm him/herself fully comprehends the legal and moral responsibilities associated with the choice to take a human life. Moreover, the cornerstone of that choice must be confidence in his/her weapons handling skills which can only be developed through on-going and realistic training,” Sutcliffe states.
The experienced instructors come from knowledgeable weapons careers, such as military and police. One is a life long Azusa Police Officer who was on the Swat Team, the other was on the Swat Team in Las Vegas. Two other instructors are Navy Seals with over 10 year seal duty each.
You can find out more about the firearms training courses they provide at the company website or call the store at 909-891-0500 as well. Below is a list of upcoming courses.
