The Glendora Public Library Friends Foundation presents the return of Opera Talks.
The next installment, the last in this series, is scheduled for Saturday, May 9 at 11 a.m. in the Friends Room at the Glendora Public Library. All events are free to the public.
This next installment, titled Behind the Scenes, will be hosted by Soprano Lisa Eden, a primary teaching artist for L.A. Opera Education and Community Programs. Eden is in residence with many schools in Los Angeles County helping to further integrate vocal music with school curriculum, according to a written statement on the city of Glendora’s website.
Eden has made appearances worldwide as a soloist at venues such as the Kennedy Center, the Embassies of France, the Baltimore Basilica and the Netherlands. Eden has also performed at the Inaugural Day Prayer Service for both President Bush in 2004 and President Obama in 2008.
Each Opera Talks installment focuses on historical, literary, philosophical and fine art aspects within opera.
The Friends Foundation works in conjunction with the Glendora Public Library, the LA Opera and the LA Opera’s Speakers Bureau to bring this series free to the public.
