I served eight times as president of the Citrus College Board of Trustees and served as a liaison for the oversight committee of Measure G, which oversaw the distribution of funds for building projects. I received the California Community League of Trustee’s Service Award twice for my years of outstanding community service. In addition I served twice on the California State Accreditation Committee for Community and Junior Colleges and seven years on the governing board of Goodwill Industries.
I am a licensed attorney, and I have a long career with the community colleges. I am a community college graduate, a community college professor of law and accounting, served as the Dean of the Business and Computer Technology Division, and served 32 years on the Citrus Community College Board of Trustees. I received my Bachelor of Science in Accounting, a Master of Science in Education and a Juris Doctorate in Law.
Citrus Community College is now being evaluated by the California State Accreditation Commission for Community and Junior Colleges. I served twice on the State Accreditation Commission’s committee to evaluate community colleges. I have the background to help Citrus Community College receive its accreditation.
I am running for this office because the community college has been part of my life since I attended as a community college student. I have the best educational and working experience for this office.
I will not only provide outstanding leadership during the accreditation evaluation of Citrus Community College, but the San Gabriel Valley Tribune called me “. . . a stalwart watchdog for local taxpayers” in October 24, 2013. I will provide that type of leadership.
