Joanne Montgomery

I have enjoyed 17 years as your Citrus College Trustee and I am enthusiastically seeking reelection.  I am pleased with the exemplary education we are providing for our students. I want the college to continue in the direction we are going, delivering high quality instruction and empowering our students to compete globally and contribute to the economic growth of our society. We are becoming a premier college in this valley.

My commitment to youth, public education, and community service has provided me with the leadership and knowledge necessary to fill the job as your community trustee.  I am a retired teacher of 32 years and have been a resident of Monrovia for over 50 years.  My husband, two children and two grandchildren graduated from Monrovia High School.
The fiscal scene for the college is constantly changing.  We need to maximize the taxpaper’s dollars while maintaining the excellence of our educational program.  I feel confident in continuing to oversee our fiscally sound budget.

I will put all my efforts toward the success of our students.  Our future lies with them!  High quality educational programs will lead to attainment of degrees, certificates, employment, and transfer. I will be responsive to the needs of the Foothill Area and strive to promote effective community and school partnerships. I will solicit input from the community and college staff before setting policy to maintain excellence in educational programs. I respectfully ask for your support once again.
