Lost Footage of 68′ Fire and 69′ Mudslides

A look back at some never before seen footage of the 1968 fires and the 1969 mudslides that followed. The featured photo in this story is taken from National Geographic Magazine.

This additional footage comes to us courtesy of Bob Airhart who lived on Grand Ave, just North of Sierra Madre at the time. Please keep in mind that cameras back then and his Kodak movie camera used for this filming are difficult to watch sometimes due to the quality and lighting. That being said, this is some of the only footage circulating besides the pictures in an old National Geographic article.
