Glendora PD To Help Raise Funds For Special Olympics

Special OlympicsIf you notice a hefty police presence at Spaghetti Eddie’s Italian Restaurant Wednesday, April 8, it’s all for a good cause.

Glendora Police officers, state parole agents and Special Olympics Pomona Valley athletes will make an appearance at the restaurant, 946 S. Grand Ave., to collect tips as celebrity servers for the Special Olympics Southern California.

All of the money raised will benefit the Special Olympics to help pay for equipment, uniforms and transportation.

The event will run from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The Tip-A-Cop event has been going on for the last several years said Cpl. Shawna Celello of Glendora Police.

“We are always happy to support our local athletes,” Celello said. “The Glendora Police Department has been proud to actively support our local athletes over the last several years by participating in Tip A Cop Events, as well as the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run.”

Glendora Police Chief Tim Staab will also be on hand to help collect tips.
