Reorganization, Development Projects on Agenda For Planning Commission

Glendora City Hall

The Glendora Planning Commission will discuss two development projects at the July 7 meeting.

One project, by Watt Communities, LLC, would bring 40 residential condominiums to 255 S. Vermont Ave. and 296, 300 and 308 W. Carroll Ave. The second project, by William Lyon Homes, would bring 47 single-family homes to the northwest corner of the city, between Sierra Madre Avenue and Donnington Street west of Baranca Avenue.

Tentative Tract Map 66608 for the William Lyons project was initially approved by the Glendora City Council on November 16, 2010 for 50 single-family homes as part of the Monrovia Nursery Specific Plan. The updated tentative tract map reduced the number of homes by three.

The Planning Commission may vote to recommend the City Council approve the tentative tract map

The Watt Communities project discussion is being continued from the May 5 meeting as the developer continues to work with the city to address traffic and neighborhood concerns that affected residents expressed at length.

The commission has yet to receive a revised traffic study from the developer. Discussion of the Watt Communities project will therefore be continued to the Aug. 4 Planning Commission meeting, City Staff said.

The Planning Commission will also be reorganizing at the July 7 meeting and will select the chair and vice-chair.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 116 E. Foothill Blvd.
