A big shift is happening in the Vons shopping center at Grand Avenue and Foothill Boulevard that will affect numerous businesses.
According to the publication Glendora Report sent out by the City of Glendora and business owners in the center who have spoke to GCN, a drive-thru Starbucks will be added to the center. This drive-thru will then start a planned move for multiple businesses.
Starbucks will do a large scale renovation of the pad building along Foothill Blvd. that currently is occupied by Dan’s Donuts and the UPS Store.
“The project was approved by the Planning Commission, and they are now in plan check to get building permits”, according to Jeff Kugel, Director of Planning for the City of Glendora.
The UPS Store will be relocating to the West side of Vons and Dan’s Donuts will relocate to one of two vacant openings to the North of CVS.
The former jewelry store or Blockbuster Video location, left vacant, are the two spots available to Dan’s Donuts.
The last phase of the plan, once Starbucks moves to the stand alone pad and drive-thru will involve Maria’s Mexican Restaurant expanding into the corner unit, which Starbucks currently occupies.
Maria’s has been actively looking to expand in recent years and this gives them the perfect opportunity to do that and keep their successful location.
