City of Glendora appoints Adam Raymond As New City Manager

GLENDORA, CA — The Glendora City Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Adam Raymond to the position of City Manager. The City retained the services of Peckham & McKenney, a leading executive search firm to conduct an open recruitment. The process included a statewide search, an extensive interview process that included director interface with the final two candidates and a comprehensive background investigation. Based on the excellent results of the process, the City Council unanimously concluded that Mr. Raymond’s leadership experience, innovation and passion made him the ideal candidate and tasked him with the responsibility of serving as Glendora’s top public administrator, bridging the gap between politics and administration, and continuing “the great traditions and quality of life that Glendora is known for.”

Mayor Mendell Thompson stated “The City Council is impressed with Mr. Raymond’s background, financial acumen, innovative ideas and talents, and government experience which will bring a tremendous amount of value to the City of Glendora and will help navigate our community through many of the challenges we will face in the future.”

Mr. Raymond comes to Glendora as a seasoned municipal government professional from the City of Riverside, where he has served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO)/Treasurer since August 2017. Prior to that, he served as Riverside’s Assistant CFO/Treasurer and Deputy Chief Innovation Officer with duties that included leading the development of departmental and citywide policies and an effort to focus on customer service. Before Riverside, Mr. Raymond worked for the Southern California cities of Rancho Palos Verdes and San Bernardino, as well as a local CPA firm, auditing cities and counties.

Mr. Raymond holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from California Baptist University and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of La Verne.

Mr. Raymond’s contract was approved by the City Council on August 14, 2018. His annual salary will be $209,000. Mr. Raymond will officially assume office and begin his duties as the Glendora City Manager effective September 4, 2018. Glendora looks forward to welcoming Adam and his wife Heather and their two children to the Glendora family.
