On January 1, 2026, students from the Glendora High School Tartan Marching Band and Pageantry will proudly represent Glendora High School on one of the world’s most iconic stages, the Tournament of Roses Parade. GHS students will march the full 5.5-mile parade route as members of the elite Pasadena City College Tournament of Roses Honor Band.

Glendora High School students who earned this distinguished honor through a highly competitive audition process include:
• Cameron Shepard (Grade 11) – Mellophone
• Skyler Hildebrandt (Grade 12) – Baritone
• Daniel Quintanilla (Grade 12) – Tuba
• Nikki Noborio (Grade 11) – Clarinet
• Charlize Thomas (Grade 12) – Pageantry
• Nadia Hawkins (Grade 11) – Pageantry

The Honor Band is composed of presently enrolled members of the Pasadena City College Lancer Marching Band, along with outstanding high school musicians and color guard performers from across Southern California. Each year, more than 500 high school students audition for approximately 200 coveted positions with the Honor Band, Pageantry, and Herald Trumpets, making selection a significant achievement.

Since 1930, the PCC Tournament of Roses Honor Band has had a rich tradition of musical excellence and has become a hallmark of the New Year’s Day celebration. High school students start the application process in early September, with auditions held on the PCC campus in early October. Hundreds of talented performers compete for a few spots.

After being selected, the Glendora High School students immediately began preparing for the world-famous performance, receiving their music and committing it to memory in the weeks leading up to the parade. Musical selections for the program include Esprit de Corps by John Philip Sousa; Everything’s Coming Up Roses by Stephen Sondheim and Jule Styne, arranged by Roc McNaughton; with We’re All in This Together and With a Little Help from My Friends, both arranged by Roc McNaughton.

Rehearsals officially began on November 2, 2025, when students reported to Pasadena City College for an all-day practice. From that point forward, they attended intensive rehearsals every Sunday through December 7, followed by additional full-day rehearsals on December 13, 14, 20, and 21. The final phase of preparation began on December 26, with students gathering daily at PCC for full-day rehearsals leading up to the parade. This rigorous schedule continued through their 3:00 a.m. call time on January 1, ensuring every detail was perfected.

Honor Band practices included precision marching, formal inspections, music rehearsals, performance refinement, and extensive coordination, all essential to performing at the highest level. Preparing for a global audience of millions demands extraordinary dedication, discipline, and commitment, and these students rose to the challenge with professionalism and pride.

Glendora High School students once again rose to the occasion, continuing a proud tradition of excellence and consistent representation in this prestigious ensemble. Their selection reflects not only their individual talent and dedication, but also the strength of Glendora High School’s band and pageantry programs.

As millions of viewers around the world tune in on New Year’s Day, these students will showcase their skill, discipline, and school pride, making Glendora proud on an international stage.

If you’d like to experience the exceptional talent of these students, along with the full Glendora Tartan Marching Band and Pageantry, be sure to attend this year’s BANDORAMA. The performance will take place on January 23 at 7:00 p.m. at the Haugh Performing Arts Center at Citrus College.
