The California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly vehicle vs pedestrian collision on Glendora Mountain Road Friday morning.
The circumstances of the crash are not immediately known, but the pedestrian who was struck and killed may have ben hit by a dump truck, according to CHP traffic logs. The victim may have been skateboarding on GMR.
The pedestrian was struck on the mountain road at East Fork Road around 10 a.m. Los Angeles County fire fighters were dispatched a minute later and arrived at 10:23 a.m., but determined the pedestrian to be dead on arrival, according to Inspector Randall Wright of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The U.S. Forest Service was also on scene providing CPR to the patient before county fire fighters arrived, according to broadcast traffic.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and has issued a Sig Alert for both northbound and southbound lanes of GMR at East Fork Road.
The identity of the victim has not been revealed yet.
