UPDATE, 5:41 p.m.: The US Forest Service reports the Cabin Fire has burned 800 acres in the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument.
According to broadcast traffic, one fire fighter is being treated for a reported snakebite.
PREVIOUS: Firefighters continue to battle the still raging Cabin Fire three miles north of Rincon-Redbox Road near Highway 39.
The latest from the US Forest Service puts the acerage at over 100. Officials report 130 fire personnel are working on containment, which stands at zero. Highway 39 at East Fork Road has been closed by the California Highway Patrol.
The Coldbrook and Crystal Lake Campgrounds have been evacuated.
A temporary flight restriction has been issued by the Federal Aviation Administration, the US Forest Service said.
The cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation.
GCN Reporter Zak Bushey has been one of the only media on the ground up there, gaining access before the closure of Highway 39. Temperatures reached 117 degrees while filming and forced his video feed to cut off.
