‘Oak Tree Challenge’ Fundraiser Coming in September

The Charter Oak Education Foundation announced the 2nd Annual “Oak Tree Challenge” 5K, mile run and walk, scheduled for Sunday, September 20.

Registration and sponsorship fees from the event will benefit the Charter Oak Education Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing enrichment programs for students in the Charter Oak Unified School District.

Individual participants in the 5K can register early for $25, while groups of five or more can register for $20 per person.

Mile run participants can register for $15. Groups of five or more can register for $10 per person.

The 5K run begins at 8 a.m., with the mile run beginning at 9 a.m. The course will take students, family members and other participants through the Charter Oak High School stadium and around the rest of the campus.

Every registered child 14 years old and under will receive a participatory medal. Every registered runner will receive a t-shirt and free pancake breakfast. Goodie bags will be given to the first 200 runners to sign in on racing day.

Registration begins at 7 a.m. with the pancake breakfast following at 8 a.m.

Registered runners eat breakfast for free, while all others can eat for $5.
