Reported Suicidal Subject Over 210 Freeway In Azusa

UPDATE, 12:51 p.m.: The CHP and Azusa Police have detained the reported suicidal woman who was seen clinging to the side of the pedestrian footbridge  over the 210 Freeway at Vernon Avenue.

PREVIOUSLY: The California Highway Patrol is on scene with an alleged suicidal subject on the Interstate 210 Freeway westbound in Azusa.

The subject is on the Vernon Avenue pedestrian overpass, reportedly over the right shoulder of the westbound side, according to CHP broadcast traffic. The CHP responded to the call just before 12:30 p.m.

CHP officers have the No. 2, 3 and 4 lanes of the westbound side shut down while they try and get the woman down.

A Sig Alert has been issued for the 2, 3 and 4 lanes for 30 minutes, the CHP reported.
