NWS Issues Flash Flood Warning

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for the eastern San Gabriel Valley effective until 7:30 a.m.

NWS radars detect a band of heavy rainfall approaching which could produce one inch to as much as two inches of rain per hour. Flash flooding or urban flooding may occur or is imminent, the NWS reported.

Residents the LA Metro area and elsewhere took to social media to report the strong winds and rain that affected their cities just minutes and hours before:

Excessive runoff from the heavy rains will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Citizens are advised to seek higher ground during flooding, the NWS said.
