The National Weather Service’s latest weather models indicate showers are expanding over the San Gabriel Mountains.
As of 12:20 p.m., the NWS predicted brief, heavy downpours and small hail possible today.
Rain totals from the showers received from the recent rains through 8 a.m. today vary throughout the area, with the Los Angeles County mountain ranges receiving anywhere from .25 to 2 inches of rain and higher amounts in the central and eastern San Gabriel Valley.
Showers are expected to increase Monday afternoon across the county, especially in the mountains and foothills, the NWS reported, with increasing shower activity north of the Colby Fire Impact Area.
The city earlier today lowered the Colby Fire Alert Status to green after the heaviest rains have moved through the area.
More rain is expected over the upcoming weekend.
