The Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority is beginning a series of open houses this week for each of the six communities slated to host a station for Phase 2B from Azusa to Montclair.
Glendora’s open house is scheduled for April 23 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Bidwell Forum of the Glendora Public Library. Station artist Michael Hillman, ceramics professor at Citrus College, will be featured.
Th open house will provide a status update on the design and funding for the glendora station as well as provide the public a chance to provide feedback on art concepts.
While former Metropolitan Transportation Authority head Art Leahy said in 2012 that there is no funding for Phase 2B, extension officials anticipates that a proposed sales tax coming in November of 2016 could pave the way to Montclair.
If the sales tax is approved, ground breaking for Phase 2B could begin in 2017 with completion of the extension coming in 2023.
The Bidwell Forum is located at 140 S. Glendora Ave.
