City officials have upgraded the Colby Impact Area Alert Status to Yellow Wednesday after forecasters predicted the possibility of thunderstorms for the area.
The city is going to a yellow alert as a precaution. Through an online Nixle alert, Glendora Police advised residents to monitor the city’s social media channels and to be alert.
- No evacuation orders in effect.
- Rain-related parking restrictions in effect.
- Residents directed to remove vehicles, trash bins and other obstructions from streets and/or travel lanes as they will be subject to tow or removal by authorities.
- No restricted entry to impact area/potentially impacted areas.
Rain might possibly arrive as early as tonight with a 20 percent chance of precipitation arriving after 11 p.m.
Rain could arrive sometime after 11 a.m. Thursday with a high near 60 degrees and winds from the west at 10 to 15 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service.
The chance for precipitation is 70 percent. Thunderstorms could hit the area by Thursday night, along with showers after 11 p.m.
The threat of thunderstorms will linger into Friday along with a 50 percent chance of rain with a slight chance for showers Friday night.
Saturday will be mostly sunny.
