An early morning fire caused extensive damage inside a home on Grand Avenue May 10.

The Fire was reported around 1 a.m. in a two-story home in the 700 block of North Grand Avenue. The residents were not home at the time after Glendora Police were tasked with locating the owners.

“We found them [the homeowners] visiting family,” said Lt. Matt Williams of Glendora Police.

Los Angeles County Fire fighters appeared to have a difficult time getting through the home due to the high volume of contents inside with additional property spilling out onto the lawn, said GCN founder Zak Bushey who was on scene during the fire fight.

Fire fighters determined an electrical issue was the source of the blaze. The home has been red-tagged due to the extensive damage caused by the fire, Williams said.

No injuries were reported.
