The Tartans breezed past South Hills Friday afternoon to shut out the Huskies 5-0 and take the Palomares League.
Pitcher Austin Isenhart had a solid performance on the mound, going 7 innings, allowing only 5 hits, 0 runs, 0 walks & fanning 4.
The Huskies wasted a real chance to put runners on the scoreboard in the 3rd inning. With a runner on third and no outs, Isenhart shut down South Hills, leaving the baserunner 90 feet away.
Glendora added three runs to their 2-0 lead in the 5th and never looked back.
Glendora trailed South Hills in the Palomares League by a half game going into Friday’s matchup. With a loss, the Tartans would possibly have taken third place, said Glendora High School Athletics Director Rod Tilton.
“[The team] played with great heart and class all year, finishing with seven wins out of eight games,” Tilton said.
