UPDATED, 3:35 p.m.: Authorities determined the vehicle over the side on Glendora Ridge Road was an abandoned vehicle, according to a dispatcher with the California Highway Patrol.
San Dimas search and rescue personnel were cancelled after a helicopter assessed the old wreck from the air, said Sgt. Joe Bolanos of the San Dimas Sheriff’s Station.
PREVIOUS: San Dimas Deputies, California Highway Patrol officers and county fire fighters are en route to a reported vehicle over the side Monday afternoon.
The vehicle is reportedly about 200 feet over the side from Glendora Ridge Road at mile marker 4.25 just before 1:30 p.m. CHP traffic logs show there is reports of “recent burn damage” around the crash site, but no active fire.
Deputies dispatched their search and rescue team to Glendora Ridge Road at 1:36 p.m.
“We have units rolling over there to find out if its an old vehicle or if it’s recent,” said Sgt. Joe Bolanos of the San Dimas Sheriff’s Station.
No other information is available.
