BREAKING NEWS: Deputy-Involved Shooting South of Azusa Pacific

UPDATE, 7:45 p.m.: The investigation into the deputy involved shooting is in the hands of Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators, said Lt. Andy Berg of the San Dimas Sheriff’s Station.

No deputies or members of the public were injured in the shooting, which occurred after a pursuit terminated on Citrus Avenue south of Alosta Avenue before 6 p.m.

The pursuit began just after 5:51 p.m., Berg said, but did not immediately know why the suspect was being pursued.

Initial broadcast traffic indicated deputies believed the suspect to be armed.

Glendora and Azusa police officers are assisting with containing the crime scene.

PREVIOUS: One pursuit suspect has been shot by Sheriff’s Deputies at the end of a reckless pursuit that terminated on Alosta Avenue east of Citrus Avenue.

Deputies with the San Dimas Sheriff’s Station are beginning an investigation and are blocking off a large area around Alosta and Citrus avenues, according to broadcast traffic.

It is unknown exactly when the pursuit began, but a foot pursuit ensued just after 5:50 p.m.

A female passenger in the suspect vehicle reportedly fled on foot south from the pursuit termination. Los Angeles County fire fighters are summoning a helicopter to transport the suspect to an area trauma center.
