A duo was arrested Sunday morning after burglarizing a Glendora Village Business in a smash and grab burglary.
My Best Friends Closet, A Consignment Shop, located at 160 N. Glendora Ave, was burglarized around 5:30am on Sunday June 18. Two windows and a glass door were all broken during the incident.
Around that time, policed received a call from a nearby resident of glass breaking in that general area, according to Glendora Lieutenant Matt Williams. At the same time other witnesses reported a series of events which quickly followed.
One male suspect was seen running from the location. The witness description helped Glendora Police locate him at the nearby Starbucks at 417 W. Foothill Blvd. A duffle bag was also retrieved in the 100 block of W. Foothill Blvd. That duffle bag ended up containing the stolen merchandise from the burglary.
Another witness reported a vehicle fleeing the burglarized location around the same time. That vehicle was found a short time later at Bennett and Cullen Ave. A male suspect was still in the vehicle and was arrested as well.
Arrested were Marquis Wilson, 26, and Brandon Medrano, 23. Both are from Los Angeles and being held held on $45,000 bail on burglary charges and conspiracy to commit a crime. Marquis has an additional charge of driving without a license/suspended license as well.
The amount of stolen merchandise was not known, but it appears some of it was found by PD but not yet returned. GCN spoke with the shop owners who are doing some repairs before reopening. They will be closed at least for the next couple of weeks. If you have a chance, please stop by and check out their store to help support them.
