The Glendora Education Foundation is excited to host its second annual FREE community movie night featuring the movie, The Incredibles. Join the fun on Friday September 29 at Finkbiner Park where activities and games will start at 6:00pm, with the movie to follow at dusk.
This fun filled evening will include live music compliments from Mike’s Guitar World, pre-show games and activities, and food available to purchase from some of our Glendora Schools Week restaurant partners. Bring your picnic blankets and chairs and enjoy the show!
This evening is to kick off the Glendora Schools Week (GSW) which will be from September 30 – October 7. This is a week-long fundraiser that will benefit the schools in the Glendora Unified District through shopping and dining at participating local businesses. These businesses have generously agreed to donate a percentage of your purchase back to GEF. Make sure you take the Glendora Schools Week flyer with you to ensure your school of choice gets credit. Flyers will be available at the Movie Night and participating businesses will have them on-hand.
Plus, this year, students will have an opportunity to win an individual prize and a prize for their school! By visiting the various participating businesses, students can collect stickers for their GSW Bingo card. A completed Bingo row equals one raffle entry. A black-out card equals a double entry. One grand prize winner will be drawn to win a limo lunch with six of their closest friends. The school with the most Bingo cards turned in could win a Dash and Dot programmable robot set (for elementary school) or a classroom set of Virtual Reality Goggles (for middle or high school). Students can pick up a Bingo card and get their first sticker at the movie night.
Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the GUSD schools by helping to provide more enrichment in the areas of:
✓ Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematic (S.T.E.A.M.)
✓ The purchasing of iPads and Chrome Books
✓ Hands-on experiential learning
✓ And much more!
So starting Saturday, September 30, take your family out to any of the listed participating businesses and you will be helping to support S.T.E.A.M and 21st Century learning in Glendora Schools.
