Residents will have the chance to discard their household hazardous waste and e-waste at a free recycling event planned at Citrus College Saturday, July 25.
The recycling event will take place in the Citrus College stadium parking lot, 1000 W. Foothill Blvd. The lot is located off of Barranca Avenue north of Alosta Avenue. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Examples of hazardous household waste that will be accepted include:
Brake fluid, paint, paint thinner, cleaners with acid or lye, pesticides or herbicides, household batteries and car batteries, pool chemicals, motor oil, oil filters, expired pharmaceuticals, anti-freeze, and fluorescent light bulbs.
Examples of e-waste that can be recycled include:
Household electronic waste including: Computer monitors, televisions, computer CPUs, keyboards, printers and cell phones.
The event is hosted by the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County and the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works.
