For those that may have forgotten, the Metro Gold Line Foothill Construction Authority will dedicate both the Azusa Downtown and Citrus College/APU stations this weekend.
In a simultaneous celebration, both stations will be dedicated Saturday, Sept. 19 at 9:30 a.m. at the Azusa Downtown Station, 780 N. Alameda Avenue in Azusa. View the video below on the artwork installation.
The ceremony includes the final station dedications along the 11.5 miles of the Foothill Extension from Pasadena to Azusa, representing the near culmination of the almost $1 billion, six-station light rail extension.
The project is on time and on budget. The extension is expected to be turned over for pre-revenue testing later in September, with official service expected to start in Spring 2016.
