City To Remain On Orange Alert, May Be Reduced Thurs.

Confident that the current weather conditions will hold steady, city officials will keep Glendora at the orange alert status, officials announced today.

The National Weather Service indicated that the predicted second storm that was expected to hit the area Wednesday, will mostly hit south of the immediate area, but periods of showers are still expected to hit Glendora, said City Manager Chris Jeffers.

There is also the potential for cold rain and thunderstorms to hit the area which may also maintain the threat of mudslides and debris flows, with predicted hourly rain rates of around one quarter of an inch beginning as early as 6 p.m. Wednesday and lasting until 3 a.m. Thursday morning.

Glendora City News was informed that city officials are contemplating reducing the city to a yellow alert status as early as 6 a.m. Thursday.
