COVID-19 may have halted Soroptimist International of Azusa Glendora (SIAG) annual outreach efforts to improve the future of women and girls, but it has not stopped them from continuing to support their communities.
The Rotary Club of Glendora continues to spearhead efforts to raise money and provide resources for people hardest hit by the pandemic. Another example is the recent Christmas relief project.
Local physicians, clinicians and team members at the 552 W. Foothill Blvd medical clinic in Glendora recently marked the change of its name from HealthCare Partners to Optum with a ribbon-cutting event. The clinic recently had new signage installed on the outside of its building and renovated its patient areas inside. It’s been located in the neighborhood for many years and is one of 75 former HealthCare Partners clinics in the Los Angeles region that has changed its name to Optum.
St. Lucy’s Priory High School will host their annual “Home for the Holidays” Christmas Boutique. Due to COVID-19, this year’s event will take place virtually over the course of four days on October 29 through November 1. in consideration of public health mandates.
“Puffs & Pizza for Hope” will take place at the Italian restaurant for the month of Oct., and $5 from every pizza kit and $1 from every order of Garlic Puffs will be donated.
