Remembering a Fallen Hero

On this day, November 10th, in 2012, one of Glendora’s own was taken from us. SSG Wade Bennett of the U.S. Army was killed in action while serving his third Tour of Duty in Afghanistan.

With Veterans Day being tomorrow, Glendora City News wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to Wade Bennett and his family for the sacrifice they made and the service to our country.

Wade’s Father, Ken, wanted us to pass along the following message:

“SSG K.Wade Bennett, Army EOD tech, was our son, KIA 10 Nov 2012 on his 3rd tour to Afghanistan. We would like to thank Sonia Jones, Chris Jeffers, Karen Davis and the Glendora PD for the Honor Guard ceremony to raise this flag from the EOD Memorial and at the Eglin Air Force Base that took place May 2014. My wife Nancy was active with Project Glendora Yellow Ribbon and these ladies have been here for us over the last 24 months… Thank you Glendora for being there for us also.” -Ken Bennett
